Chicken Fried Bacon

Hey girls,

JW and I visited my cousin in Arlington (in between Dallas and Ft. Worth) this weekend and here are the pictures from our trip.

We started the day at the Nasher Sculpture Center and saw beautiful art both indoors and outdoors.

Afterwards, we headed to the Sixth Floor Museum and learned more about the assassination of JFK.

For the rest of the day, we spent sweating, eating and walking around the Texas State Fair.

We were introduced to the craziest fried food - chicken fried bacon!! It was voted 1 of 8 top tastes of the fair, so of course we had to try it. It was breaded and fried strips of bacon...salty, crunchy and oh so unhealthy! Just a taste was enough.

We also got to see bull riding, dogs dancing, pig races and rabbit judging. For more pics, go here.

Oh, I almost forgot. There was a stall selling jewelry, art and knickknacks from Nepal/India. I got this cool little ring...it reminds me of a John Hardy design.

Friday's green balloon shirt

Hi Girls,

I was too pooped to wear something nice to work on Friday, so I wore. . .my green balloon shirt and debuted my gladdy sandals. Don't worry -- I didn't wear the hat to work :)

Me & Ervy - the anonymous headless fools! This was my attempt at trying to take pics without a tripod.

Speaking of Ervy. . .

Thanks T, for the cute blog with Pug stuff!

Speaking of Ervy, K & I were being traiters to him yesterday!

We were admiring Lincoln, who won best-in-show at the Louisville Kennel Club Show. Lincoln is a smooth-coated Brussels Griffon - extremely adorable with personality! K and I had never seen a smooth-coated one (they're usually rough-haired, and kinda ugly, in my opinion!), we thought he was a new breed. . .image from courier-journal.com

In Honor of Ervy

I was looking on Etsy for key chains and saw this cute pug charm from VANCA.

Pug Keychain

And then I read on DailyCandy about renowned photographer Michael Crouser and his pictures of doggies. Here's his website, check out the Dog Run project: http://michaelcrouser.com/.

And my last bit of randomness is the keychain that I was looking for originally from LeatherPrince. The ninja is my favorite because of his little sword.

Botkier Lust

Okay, since I mentioned in the previous post that I was looking at Botkier bags all day, here are my favorites that I'm lusting after.

Lust #1: Sasha Small Duffel in burgundy

There's also the silver nylon selling on ebay right now for about $175 cheaper, which is very tempting. However, I REALLY like the burgundy color.

*For the next lusts, sorry there are no pictures. For some reason, the pictures aren't posting.

Lust #2: St. Tropez Vacation Tote in gold patent
(on sale on the Botkier website for $195)
do you think this bag will be huge? too big?

Lust #3: Kika Satchel in grey
I don't usually like bows, but the bow on this purse is really cute. I really like the light purple.

I'm really thinking about getting the burgundy Sasha; it's so great.

Okay, that's it for now. My next purse lust post will probably be Gucci. :D

New Purses!

After staring at Botkier handbags online all day, I decided to take a trip to Neiman's today with fellow purse-lovers to look at the bags in person. With several side field trips to other stores, I find myself with two more purses tonight. Sigh, I couldn't help it.....they were both on sale! :)

Here are my purchases:

1st purchase
Francesco Biasia Butterfly Glam Two Satchel bag in black
- purchased at 40% off at Bloomingdale's (original price: $248.00; sale cost: $148.80)

I don't know if you can see it, but there is a layered effect on the bag that I really like.

I just found though this bag on SmartBargains for cheaper ($103.99 with free shipping). The bag also comes in beige. I'm going to return at Bloomingdale's and order at SmartBargains.

Which color do you think I should get? I will always love black, but the beige looks nice in the picture above. The black picture from the website gives a better view of the satchel.

2nd purchase
Le Sportsac
- purchased for $8.99 (!!!) at Metro Park

Here is a closer view to show what the design is:

As the bargain-whore I am, there was no way I could let this bargain go!

Okay, so I'm sure my buyer's remorse will settle in tomorrow, but right now I'm too happy about the purchases.

What do you guys think? You think my fashion sense was skewed due to the prices? hehe

EDIT: I went ahead and ordered the black bag from SmartBargains. Quantities were limited, only 3 left! I got scared and just placed the order.. hehe. Yay to more discounts!

Shout Out

This is a shout-out to one of our most devoted readers! She's been reading our blog from the very first day...which (if you think about it) is not that great of an achievement since we only started a few weeks ago...but cheers to her nonetheless! LOL.

My friend from work took a picture of today's outfit - you can tell we were in her office by the bland walls and bad lighting. I wanted to show that my shirt had these cute little pockets on the sides...

And here's a pic of her new shoes - brown oxford flats! Cute huh?

Fuglies have arrived!

Woo-hoo!! Meet my Fuglies. . .

There was one more Fugly that I really really wanted. . .but the price of it was equal to all four above! YIKES. . .K's favorites are the 1st & last ones. I like all of them - will have to think of outfits for them. haha, can you tell I haven't shaved?

SHOE PARADE
Taking pics of my Fuglies inspired me to do a shoe parade (finally!months after seeing Fashion Nation do theirs). Before I started, I thought I would have sooo much fun doing it. But after I was done, I realized. . .I don't have THAT many shoes! And most of mine are so boring that I'm ashamed! How disappointing. Anyways, here's my shoe parade. . .

1st Row (from back): all for work! The one on the left is actually 5 years old. Sigh, I hang onto things for so long that they come back into style. Sad thing is I kept wearing it all 5 years!

2nd Row (from back): work continued. I know my super pointy shoes are outta style! But I tell myself who cares, I live in a small city (yeah I know - in denial). The 2nd from the left one is actually elfish - the ends point up :) I actually wore them on a project in Philly - those shoes work well in snow!

3rd Row (from back): the middle two were from argentina. . . like 6 years ago!

4th Row (from back): my beloved flats - perfect for me the klutz, and in a rainbow of colors.

Funny thing is, my sis-in-law has 3 of the shoes above!

Now I have proof for K that I don't have THAT many shoes :)

I thought I'd share this cute plug for voting from DailyCandy (http://www.dailycandy.com/everywhere/):

Lunch Break

Hey Shasha,

Lilo and I met up for lunch today...we walked to a nearby cafe since there's no gas to drive anywhere. We were goofing off and started taking pics from my phone on our way back to work. She looks so cute in a H&M orange shirt (perfect for the fall) but I'm pretty bland in grey/blue. I think I need to bring my camera to work to take more pics of our daily outfits!
