Anne of Green Gables

Lilo and I had a movie and baking night! We're watching Anne of Green Gables (sigh...Gilbert Blythe) and made brownies with Andes mints and pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

Lunch Together

Lilo and I went to lunch at Chef Liu's today. She thought her outfit was weird, but I think it's really cute! Sorry for the bad picture, it's from my phone camera.

Lilo's outfit: Old Navy dress, Rampage bag, dunno about sweater.
Thao's outfit: Ann Taylor sweater & pants, Target blouse, Botkier Sasha.

And on my way home tonight, I heard this new song, Love Lockdown, from Kanye...love it!

Spooky Nights

I may be getting too old for this, but I once again dressed up and went out this Halloween. BOTH Friday and Saturday night. A little crazy, but it ended up being a lot of fun. As I am still recovering from the lack of sleep I suffered this past weekend, I wanted to share my costumes with the you homebodies. :)

FRIDAY NIGHT

On Friday night, a bunch of us went to the probably biggest Halloween party in the city. But first, we stopped by a way smaller party to support a fraternity that a lot of us have connections to.
Here are the girls of the group before we headed out: an army cutie, sexy playboy bunny, pretty fairy and two pussycats:

My friend and I didn't really want to put too much effort into our costumes this year, so we just cat bought ears and wore all black. Pretty simple.

We saw some crazy costumes at the huge party. The ones that stood out the most were these gigantic Sesame Street Characters. I got the privilege of getting Big Bird to take a picture with us. I believe Elmo and Cookie Monster were macking on some other girls.

SECOND NIGHT

On Saturday night, we headed out again. As the Disney lover as I am, I had to dress up as one of the Disney characters. Three of us (including my sister) dressed up as Minnie Mouse. Of course, my sister and I already owned the Minnie ears, so we didn't have to buy anything for the costumes. yay!

Here are my and mini-Lilo's costumes. You can't tell in the lighting, but my ears have sequins on them, and her ears are fuzzy. None of us owned polka-dotted dresses, so black was the way to go. The red shoes are my sister's. They reminded me of shoes that Jessica Simpson would wear.

Here is a closer up picture of our ears, I think you can see them better.

Isn't my sister's top too sexy??? haha. My, how the little ones grow up so fast!

My costumes were a bit boring this year with all the black. (Last year, I dressed up as Alice in Wonderland.) At least all my black "normal" clothes came into good use and saved me from buying another $50+ costume, which is only worn once. haha. I'm saving money for that next great purchase! What should it be? New coat? purse? shoes? jewelry? Sigh, I hate decisions. :P

Handbag Fever

Looking at everyone's collection of shoes and bags make my collection seem weak. :(
When I get a big fat raise, I will go all out! Haha.
Until then, here is what I got.
My bag collection in no particular order (shoe collection will come later when I'm not too lazy to take all my shoes out of their boxes to take pictures):

1st set:

2nd set:

3rd set (and of course, I have to represent the Disney):

I'm still working on building up my collection. I think a dark purple would be nice. And of course, the burgundy Botkier Sasha Small Duffel, which I'm still thinking about.

And now I'd like to end this post by sharing my favorite bag of all time:

Who is that cute girl? Hehehe. Does she look like the real-life Lilo?

Mallrats

Today, all three of us were able to meet up at the mall for lunch and a little shopping. We picked up a few things, but the highlight of our day was playing dress up at Neimans. We snuck a camera into the dressing room and dried on some beautiful dresses!

Wedding Attire

Two weekends ago, I went to Manhattan Beach, CA for a cousin's wedding. I bought 3 new dresses for the wedding. There were two ceremonies: a Catholic ceremony on Friday and a beach ceremony on Saturday. I wore 2 dresses, and my sister ended up wearing my 3rd one.

Here is what I wore to the Catholic ceremony:
Two cousins on the left, sister on the right in purple. I wore a simple silver dress with a black cropped, short-sleeve sweater. I think for the next time I plan to wear this dress, I'm going to take it to the tailor to shorten it to bring it up a bit. It will probably look better a bit shorter.
The bride wanted the "asian" side of the family to wear traditional wear. So yeah, my sister, mom, and I were the only ones who didn't. hehe. Our excuse: there are no good places to find good quality, nice "chi-paus" here in our hometown. Oh well, we are part of the cousins who actually look asian, so I think people got the idea. :)

For the beach ceremony, here are the remaining 2 dresses I bought. Little sister decided her original dress wasn't formal enough, so she just helped herself to wearing my 3rd dress. :P

I think my sister's shoes are so cute! They tie into bows at the back of her ankles. I'm not a huge fan of my necklace, now seeing it in pictures. Gah, oh well. I'm still trying to figure out the whole jewelry thing, beyond my usual silver chains and pendants. Also, my hair was actual curled and all pretty-looking. I guess the salty wind and whatnot totally straightened my hair.. all my efforts were lost. haha. I just wanted to explain why my hair looks so BLAH at a wedding.

And here are a few more pics from the wedding weekend:

The wedding party at the Catholic ceremony

The beautiful ladies in their traditional wear at the Indian restaurant we ate at for dinner after the Catholic ceremony. Best Indian buffet I've ever been to!

Playing on the beach... .it was windy, if you can't tell haha. I love how we are barefoot.

Botkier Lust

Okay, since I mentioned in the previous post that I was looking at Botkier bags all day, here are my favorites that I'm lusting after.

Lust #1: Sasha Small Duffel in burgundy

There's also the silver nylon selling on ebay right now for about $175 cheaper, which is very tempting. However, I REALLY like the burgundy color.

*For the next lusts, sorry there are no pictures. For some reason, the pictures aren't posting.

Lust #2: St. Tropez Vacation Tote in gold patent
(on sale on the Botkier website for $195)
do you think this bag will be huge? too big?

Lust #3: Kika Satchel in grey
I don't usually like bows, but the bow on this purse is really cute. I really like the light purple.

I'm really thinking about getting the burgundy Sasha; it's so great.

Okay, that's it for now. My next purse lust post will probably be Gucci. :D

New Purses!

After staring at Botkier handbags online all day, I decided to take a trip to Neiman's today with fellow purse-lovers to look at the bags in person. With several side field trips to other stores, I find myself with two more purses tonight. Sigh, I couldn't help it.....they were both on sale! :)

Here are my purchases:

1st purchase
Francesco Biasia Butterfly Glam Two Satchel bag in black
- purchased at 40% off at Bloomingdale's (original price: $248.00; sale cost: $148.80)

I don't know if you can see it, but there is a layered effect on the bag that I really like.

I just found though this bag on SmartBargains for cheaper ($103.99 with free shipping). The bag also comes in beige. I'm going to return at Bloomingdale's and order at SmartBargains.

Which color do you think I should get? I will always love black, but the beige looks nice in the picture above. The black picture from the website gives a better view of the satchel.

2nd purchase
Le Sportsac
- purchased for $8.99 (!!!) at Metro Park

Here is a closer view to show what the design is:

As the bargain-whore I am, there was no way I could let this bargain go!

Okay, so I'm sure my buyer's remorse will settle in tomorrow, but right now I'm too happy about the purchases.

What do you guys think? You think my fashion sense was skewed due to the prices? hehe

EDIT: I went ahead and ordered the black bag from SmartBargains. Quantities were limited, only 3 left! I got scared and just placed the order.. hehe. Yay to more discounts!
